![]() ![]() No big deal really but I'm not sure why they keep it because it is very very dated looking and could use a slight renovation to continue their long tradition. Paneled lower walls and auburn colored plastic swirled glass as dividers have definantly been there since the late 60's early 70's. We also swatted at several flys during our visit.Ītmosphere: As I said Cliffords is known for its Wisconsin Supper Club charm. The buss boy came out with the paper place settings and put them right over the food still on the table and set it up for the next customer leaving us to stare at food stuck to the sides of the table cloth left from the child. We both said I hope he's not done cleaning that table because there was large pieces of food and crumbs on the top of the table cloth and the sides hanging over the edges. He then picked up the dirty dishes from the clean table and went to the kitchen. Next he took a moist towel and did a quick figure 8 wiping motion over the top of the table pushing some of the crumbs and food onto the floor he just swept. He then started sweeping the floor from the messy child. He first stacked the dirty dishes and placed them on the clean table next to that table. A teenage buss boy was responsible to turn the table over and get it ready for the next customer. Sanitary Conditions: Next to us was a couple with a child in which the child made quite a mess. The coleslaw was good as well as the tarter but when the frys are greasy and limp and every piece of fish was tough a nice bread bowl and cole slaw doesn't raise the bar. So the overall food experience was nothing great. The smaller pieces were all chewy while the larger pieces were chewy and tough on the edges. There was not 1 piece of fish that was not tough and chewy. We had about 10 pieces of fish between the 2 of us ranging in size from small to large. Unfortunately the frys looked limp and greasy as if they sat under a lamp for awhile or were pre-made, there wasn't a crisp fry on the large portion on the plate, but who cares about frys I came for the fish. The portions brought to us were very large of both fish and frys. We arrived a little before 4:00 pm and there was maybe 6 to 7 tables, so we beat the crowd.įood Quality: Both Fish Frys came out in about 15 minutes after being served a bread/cracker basket with butter. Well yesterday it was extremely memorable, so memorable that we will not go back. ![]() That should triggered something right there because it wasn't very memorable the last time. ![]() ![]() of us could remember if the FF was good so we decided to go back. Of coarse it always makes local write ups as a must and is always applauded for its Wisconsin Supper Club charm. It has been a few years since we've been to Cliffords for their Friday Fish Fry.
